AI4TRUST Odyssey: Unveiling the Second in-person Consortium Meeting

25 – 26 September 2023 ยทย Thessaloniki, Greece

As we have come to understand, the primary aim of the AI4TRUST project is to combat misinformation and disinformation within the European Union. This objective is to be achieved through the establishment of a trust-based environment that combines automated monitoring of social and news media with advanced AI technologies to support human fact-checkers.

At present, the project partners from various countries including Estonia, France, Germany, Greece, Italy, the Netherlands, Poland, Romania, Spain, the United Kingdom, and Switzerland are convening in Thessaloniki (Greece) for a two-day meeting, held on September 25-26, 2023.

This intensive face-to-face gathering allows the partners to delve into and share their collective knowledge, discuss recent objectives and goals, and ultimately establish a plan of action for the coming months.

The agenda for these two days centers on maintaining a constant commitment and dialogue between partners, presenting and evaluating recent activities, overseeing project coordination and management issues, as well as reviewing the progress of deliverables. The Thessaloniki meeting, accessible both virtually and on-site, will consist of informative presentations, engaging discussions, proactive workshops, and round table sessions to align needs, address upcoming plans and steps, and cater to any partner requirements.

Such events serve to strengthen teamwork and efforts behind a project like AI4TRUST, which seeks to establish a trustworthy online environment by involving researchers, media practitioners, and policymakers. The project aims ultimately to facilitate the creation and dissemination of trustworthy information and counter narratives while also identifying and countering misinformation and disinformation.

Keep an eye on the AI4TRUST website to stay updated on the developments during these days and to find out what is planned for the upcoming months as the project progresses.
